Girl Guide International Camp 2012! :D

Held once every 5 years, International Camp 2012 is organized as part of the Association’s Centenary Celebrations of Girl Guiding. The camp theme “Girls Worldwide say We can Save our Planet’ will encourage and challenge each of us to think about and live out a life that is green and blue!

Dates: 4-8 June 2012 (Monday – Saturday)

Venue: Camp Christine, MOE Jalan Bahtera Campsite and Sarimbun Campsite

Guide Participants: 8 Guides per coy

Camp Fee: S$180 per girl (inclusive of activities and excursion charges)(school will be subsidising $60-$90, the rest can be paid through edusave).

Dorothy Chan Camp Assistance Fund:Guides may apply for the Dorothy Chan Camp Assistance Fund if they cannot afford to pay the full amount of the camp fee.

Activities: Kayaking, high elements, night cycling, pioneering, backwoodsman cooking, nature trails etc.

Activity on 270112 :)

Hi Guides :D

Fall in in guides half uniform at 2.30pm sharp. Cut your fingernails, fringe pinned up, 4-fingers high socks (if not we sell you socks!). For those whose lesson end late, pls also report at 2.30pm. Time will be given to you to eat later. Those who are absent for the camp or last activity, please take the initiative to pass your MC/Parents' letter to the ST’s before you fall in.

Do bring along your PT kit, which means wear PE shorts inside. :) Strictly no FBTs, etc.

For those who have signed up for the footdrill badge, do familarise yourself with all the commands.

Sec 3s, please stay back after activity for around 20 mins. We have some stuffs for you all :) 

Drink more water and have an early night! :)

Chevlene, pls submit your heritage badge to the QM before you fall in.

CIP for Chingay

HIIIIIIII Guides!!!
Firstly, i would like to thank all of you for putting in your best effort for the thinking day competition. Really touched to see all of you staying back almost everyday this week to complete your competition items. A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL. Hope everything turns well and we can earn some award :DD

Back to main point, like what i have mention on the previous activity, there is CIP work available for the sec 3s and even the sec 2s. So those sec 3s that would like to clear your CIP hours, hurry up and sign up!

Details are as follow:
Date: 4 Feb, saturday
Time: 2pm to 12 MIDNIGHT!!! (or may end even later than 12am)
Transport will only be provided to the nearest MRT.
I would like all of you to get permission from your parents first before signing up for this event as it might end after midnight. (you might even need your parents to drive you home)

Activity on 18/1/12 :)

Hi Guides :D

(Cut your fingernails and fringe must be pinned up) For those whose lesson end late, pls also report at 2.30pm. Time will be given to you to eat later. Those who are absent for the camp or last activity, please take the initiative to pass your MC/Parents' letter to the ST’s before you fall in.

It's another day of UG experience! This time, to celebrate the upcoming CNY, we'll be having lots of games! :) Please get ready at least 2 pieces of drawing block papers and markers. Also, time will be given to those who have not completed their Thinking Day Competition assignment. So do hurry up and finish it :)

Do remember to bring all your materials (esp for photography grps and percussion grps, pls bring along a camera), completed assignment, etc etc and hand in to Lexin CL or me repesctively. :)

Details of thinking day competition

Hi Guides!
Next week activity will be on 18Jan, wed, due to fri CNY celebration.
details of thinking day competition are as follows:

Scrapbook page design competition


1)    A creative work of putting together a scrapbook page which captures the WTD theme, Together We Can Save Our Planet”. The dimension of the scrapbook page is 30cm by 30cm.
Scrapbook pages in other dimensions will be disqualified.
2)    Each Pack/Coy may submit more than one entry. The name of the Coy/Pack and School must be clearly indicated on the top left hand corner of the back of the scrapbook page.
     
      Painting on reuseable items competition
     
1)    A creative work of printing or painting on a reusable item (use either one of the following: shoes, T-shirt or cloth bag).  The work should capture the WTD theme, “Together We Can Save Our Planet”.
2)    Each Pack/Coy may send in more than one reusable item. The name of the Coy/Pack and School must be clearly indicated on the item itself.
3)    All entries MUST BE COMPLETELY DRY before they are submitted.

     Digital photography competition
    
1)   A creative work in the form of a digital photograph which captures the WTD theme, Together We Can Save Our Planet”.
2)    Each Pack/Coy may send in more than one entry.
Photographs in softcopy (jpeg format) are to be submitted.

      Wearable fashion competition

1)    A creative work made up of recycled materials and is wearable as a piece of dress.  The work should capture the WTD theme, “Together We Can Save Our Planet”.
2)    Each Pack/Coy may send in more than one entry. 
     
     Percussion competition

1)    A creative work performed using everyday objects as percussions (the object should exclude drums and other percussion musical instruments).  The work should capture the WTD theme, “Together We Can Save Our Planet”. Duration of the performance should be between 3 and 5 minutes.
2)    Each Pack may send in more than one entry.
Videos in wmv format are to be submitted.

ALL entries are to be submitted to us on wed 18Jan. Time will be allocated for you to TOUCH UP (not painting of the whole design) on your work.

For photography and percussion groups, pls get your materials ready before wednesday. ONLY FILMING TIME WILL BE GIVEN ON WED.

Activity on 13/1/12

Hello Guides!

Fall in in guides half uniform (with high socks, if not we will sell you our socks!) on friday at
2.30pm sharp. For those lesson that end late, pls also report at 2.30pm. Time will be given to eat later. Those who are absent for the camp, please take the initiative to pass your MC/Parents' letter to the ST’s before you fall in. 

This will be the first activity of the year and we will be doing indoor cooking!!!! :D
The theme of indoor cooking is Meat-lover,each patrol are required to bring ingredients that have at least one type of meat in it.
Do discuss the dish with your PL and bring the necessary food item needed and utensils.


Please also update your PL through sms your new contact no.(if any) and your new class.



Sec 3s who have not submitted their heritage badge are to submit to the QMs before falling in.

Footdrill Badge for Sec 3s and 4s :)

To sign up you must:
- be really really CONFIDENT with all commands!
- have very good MARCHING SKILLS!

Please refer to the picture attached to find out what you will be having to complete if you sign up for this badge.

Mdm Hasna would be the tester and she is very very strict. The test is scheduled to be held in early March!

Please submit your name and class to Jafqi QM BEFORE 20 Jan 2012. You can look for her after / before guides activity / in her class on new block 4th floor 2nd class from netball court during school hours. Please take note that registration through sms to Jafqi QM is not accepted. Do find her in person.
