Reflection for 23 August:)

As usual, we left our bags at the guides room and fall in outside LH2. The sec 1s had their Health Trooper Badge Course and hence, they left for the Health Promotion Board after greeting the seniors. After that, the sec2s went to the Ecube room for our 5-point test. The 5-point test was about acting out a scene based on a world issue. Elissa, Wi En and I acted out a SARS disease scenario, whereby, as a guide, what can we do to solve the problem. We all fun even though it was a test. I felt that our patrol did the job well, the other patrols did well too! Thereafter, we had our craft making session for the Gardens by the Bay project. This time, we're assigned to make flowers. As my patrol have already finished the 100 leaves, i went to oriole patrol to help them out with their leaves. At the end of the session, everyone finished the number of leaves and flowers required. Overall, i felt this craft making session is very meaningful. It help us bond as a patrol while doing the craftwork. Everyone put in their fullest effort in making the craftworks too :D

Reflection for 21 August:)

On Wednesday, we fell in outside the LT2 after putting our bags in the guides room. Then we did some drilling and gadget making after that. We split ourselves into groups and made a table each. the seniors then tested to see if our tables could stand.

Then for the rest of the activity, we used newspapers, felt and scouring pads to make the shapes of different leaves for the Gardens by The Bay project. We had to make 100 leaves per patrol. We cut out the shapes of the different leaves, decorated it with either paint, markers and newspapers. We worked together as a patrol and finished it very quickly. After we finished making, we cleaned up the classroom and fell in at by the lakeside for dismissal. this activity was enjoyable! :)

Reflections for 16thAugust

On friday, we fall in at the concourse at 2.30. As there was oral on that day, we could not time as loudly as we normally would. After greeting the seniors, we helped to carry the bags to the guides room. Then we spiltted into our East Division Day groups. As Ms Anisa was not present that day, we did not present our dance. Instead, we helped our seniors to put the service learning posters all over the school. When we finished, we practiced our dance steps in the guides room.

Awhile later, we were told to assemble at LT2 where Yong Yu, Hannah, Seow Khim and --- gave us a talk about the service learning activity. I find that the service learning project is very meaningful as we get the opportunity to help people who are not as fortunate as us. We can help them by giving them daily necessities that some might not have access to. By doing that, the people who received the stuff might not have to worry too much about whether they would have enough food to eat and so on. Seeing people happy makes me happy too! :D

When the talk ended, we gathered behind LT2 for a drilling competition! And Coy 1 won the competition by 0.5 points! :p I think that the competition was thrilling as I find it exciting to drill with the seniors and we never had such an experience before. It was fun to drill as a company together and compete with company 2. Though we made some mistakes, I think that we did quite well. I hope that there will be more of such competitions. xD Finally, the competition ended and the sec 1s and 2s split to different classrooms for our respective 5-point tests. Then the tests ended and we all sang taps before going home. The activity was enjoyable and I hope that guides will be more bonded!!! :)

Reflections for 14th August!

The activity on 14th August was different from the other activities as we had Foosball initiative! In this game, we had to kick the ball into our opponent’s goal but within a restricted area. Teamwork was really important as we need to pass the ball to each other without interception. We had fun snatching the ball from one another but also had to bear the consequences of getting injured as Hannah had the tendency of kicking too hard and it hit my head once. I think that this initiative is really meaningful as it bonds not only patrol members together, but also the relationship between patrols and even both the coys. In the end for the juniors match dove patrol won! YAY J I feel that seniors had put in a lot of effort in order for us to have a fun game so thank you seniors! I hope there will be more of such initiatives in the future! J
