Details for World Water Day Celebrations ~~~

Hi Guides :-D

Here are the instructions for World Water Day celebrations this Saturday

Please note that you have to bring a fully-filled water bottle and your own snack or sandwich. Report in your Red PE shirt and track pants. Wear comfortable shoes for the 2 km mass walk! 



If PSI is below 100 at 6am
  • Meet at 7.30 a.m. at Gardens by the Bay East
  • There will be a 2 km mass walk to Marina Barrage for the event
  • Guides are to put on their head gears
  • Guides selected to be dressed as water droplets to be ready by 7.30 a.m. when they report at Gardens by the Bay East






If PSI is above 100 at 6 a.m.,
  • Meet directly at Marina Barrage entrance at 8 a.m.
  • Mass walk will be cancelled
  • Guides are to put on their head gears
  • Guides selected to be dressed as water droplets to be ready by 8 a.m. when they report at Marina Barrage






You will be released from Marina Barrage at 12 p.m. when the event ends.

Tentative plan:

7.30 am Report at Garden by the Bay East (via Tanjong Rhu Road)
8.00 am Walk for Water (2km) to Marina Barrage
*      Participants can dress up as water droplets
*      Participants can wear water droplet head gears
*      Tattoos of water mascots will be provided
8.30am Arrive at Marina Barrage
*      Distribution of Goodie Bags (GGS)
*      Water Message on Post-its (GGS)
*      Quiz time (external vendor)
*      Visit GGS Education Booth
*      Participate in workshops – Sailing and Windmill making
9.50 am Launch of GGS-PUB Water Challenge Badge by DPM Teo Chee Hean; Mrs Joy Balakrishnan, President of GGS; Ms Kim Lay Eng, Chief Commissioner of GGS; with 2 Brownies and 2 Guides
*      Presentation of GGS-PUB Water Challenge Badge Replica on stage (photo opportunity)
*      Participants to gather near the stage for the launch
10.05 am GGS Stage Performance
*      C:\Users\carolyn\Desktop\ggs pub snip.PNGFashion parade for ‘Water droplets’& ‘Head Gears
*      GGS Dance for water
10.30 am GGS Prize presentation
*      Best dressed water droplet
*      Best dressed unit for head gear

Extra Information:
  • Dance item will be conducted by an external party and the judging will be on the spot. No prior registration needed
  • The windmill workshop at Marina Barrage will be on a first-come-first-serve basis. Those who are interested will have to line up at the booth
  • Visit the GGS Education booth (booth number 11). There is a quiz there and interesting prizes will be given out on a first-come-first-serve basis

**Those participating in the Best Unit Head Gear and Best Dressed Water Droplet contests should put on their gears during the walk. You will be assessed during the walk.
