Guide Reading Ambassador Proficiency Badge

There is a new proficiency badge available for all of you! It's the Guide Reading Ambassador Proficiency Badge. 

The Guide Reading Ambassador Proficiency badge is a new programme by GGS initiated by the National Library Board. This reading programme aims to promote the love of reading, cultivate good reading habits and to provide an avenue for children to interact. During the reading sessions, Guides read aloud stories from books and engage them in a variety of reading-related activities such as craft, board games, poetry and songs. Its key outcome is to develop children with strong foundations in reading literacy and a love for reading.

MOE Learning outcome (LO7) : Demonstrate care for and contribute actively towards improving the lives of others to build a bright future for ourselves and to progress together as one nation.

To attain the badge, a Guide have to complete ALL the following  clauses:

1.       Attended 6 book club sessions with each session lasting for at least 4 hours.

2.       Learned to be a facilitator and presenter.

3.       Led a group discussion as facilitator and represented the group as a presenter.

4.       Work in a group project with a maximum of 4 Guides and present the materials to the unit/school.
