Reflection for 1st August (:

During the guides activity on the 1st of August, we fell in at the concourse at 3.15pm. During Guides initiative, we made a no-sew tote bag out of pillow case and some fabrics. Despite my no-sew tote bag not being as nice-looking as I had imagined it to be, I feel that this Guides initiative was really interesting and fun! It had enhanced our creativity skills, and taught us how to "DIY". In future, when we have old pillow cases or fabric, we may even create a no-sew tote bag again! I wish that there can be more of such activities. After which, the sec2s practiced gadget making by making a shoe rack, while the sec1s did their 5 point test. Last but not least, we had a bit of drilling session, whereby Vanessa was made to give commands to us. I truly enjoyed Friday's activity, and I hope that there can be more of such activities! :)

Reflection For 30th July (:

On 30th July 2014 we had our  5 point test, initiatives and had some games in replacement of Physical Training . The sec 1s from Coy 2  supposed to pitch a Dome tent for our 5 point practical but unfortunately, it started to rain so we had to pack the tent and continue with our 5point theory instead . I felt sad that we were not able to pitch the tent due to the rain. After we finished 5point test , most of the sec 2s came back from their oral and joined us for initiative . We made pen/ handphone holder out of 5yakult bottles . I think that this is a very useful and easy thing to make and I can also decorate it to my own liking (; Afterwards , we played some games that required our trust from each which I felt that it was a good way to bond with my batch mate and the seniors.

Initiatives for Friday :)

Hello Guides :)

Many of you are unsure of what a long fabric strip is so here are some examples to show you. It is technically a long piece of cloth cut into strips and if you're unsure of how long it should be, it should be longer than your belt. If it is not long enough, please bring two pieces of the fabric strip that adds up to be longer than your belt length :) If you're unsure of where you can get the cloth, you can get it from daiso! Please don't get the felt type of cloth it isn't as practical as compared to the other type of softer cloth.

Below are examples of many long strips of fabric.

This is the type of cloth i'm referring to that you can get at daiso(I brought this).

A typical piece of Daiso cloth like this can be shared with about 3 to 4 of you so that you do not waste the cloth! And remember to bring your pillow case on Friday!

Reflection for 23rd July

On Wednesday the 23rd of July, the Sec2s went for our Warrior health trooper badge. Through the Fitness Funhouse, Addiction Mall and Happiness Hall, we learnt many things to keep ourselves fit and healthy:) It was so fun as I got to learn many interesting things through games which is so much better than learning in a classroom with textbooks! After that, we headed back to school and join the Sec1s for PT. Even though it was tiring (my legs hurt a lot) but , we got to bond as a patrol! :)

Reflection for 25th July

On Guides activity on 25 July, we had our 5 point test while the sec 2s did flag pole and turfing. After our 5 point test, we did turfing. After that, we all changed into our Guides Full Uniform for horseshoe formation. As I was in one of the last few groups that did turfing, the other sec 1s that completed came over to help us on turfing and we worked together. Overall, I think we can improve by having a sense of urgency and do things within the time limit
