Drilling Badge 2014:)

Good job guys for drilling badge! Hopefully all your hardwork will be paid off! :))

Reflection for 11 April:)

Reflection for 11/04/2104
Sec 4 seniors are stepping down and today marks their last activity with us ): Hey, but the sec1s are officially our guides family too! Before the sec 3 fall in, we had to adjust the flagpole. We could have improved on our time management as we took rather long to set up the flagpole, and s0me seniors have to step in to guide us too. Due to the bad weather condition, enrollment ceremony had to be conducted indoors. It’s been a long time since we formed a horseshoe formation and it’s our first time doing it with the sec1s. There were some changes to the procedures too (Remember to follow your PLs  J) Finally, it’s time for our mini farewell party to the sec4s! The candles in the hall represents the little guiding light of mine, ,shining brightly in the dark lecture hall. Sec 4 seniors have followed their own guiding light to where they are today, and now it is the sec3s turn. The video brought back many memories, the ups and downs in guides. Everyone was so emotional, even the sec2s were crying (‘:Don’t worry sec4 seniors, I believe that sec3s can continue to bring guides to greater height, we still have POP! Even though you guys will not be with us during activity but we will still remember you all as part of our family. Once a guide, forever a guide. Do visit us often!

Falling in...

Farewell Party!

Reflection for 4 April:)

On friday, we fall in at the concourse with our grey tee and track pants at 3pm. As usual, we greeted the seniors, conducted uniform check and had roll call. After roll call, the sec ones went up to the classroom to take their 5-point test while the sec 2s went to drill along the service road. The sec 3s went to the field for axemanship and turfing. Then, we had PT station games! Although it was quite tiring, but we encouraged each other and persevered as we moved from stations to stations:) i believe everyone enjoyed themselves and had fun :D

Reflection for 2 April:)

On 2 April, we fell in as usual and did our usual roll call and uniform check. After that we did some drilling after we spilt into sec 1, sec 2 and sec 3. While the sec 1s did their test we were at the concourse doing gadget making. We had to make a dish washing rack using poles that we chose from the guides room. We still need to improve on our fader making skills as it is always quite loose.
After that we had inter patrol games which was very fun and interesting. And there were even sweets as prizes though my patrol didn't win i still had lots of fun. However everything ended so quickly and it was time for dismissal already.

Reflection for 28 March:)

On Friday, we did the usuals and the sec 3s were told to revise the steps of enrolment ceremony with the sec 1s. I feel that enrolment ceremony is then most important ceremony in guides because it is when we become a real Guide. Meanwhile, the sec 2s get to practice the chopping of wood which is also one of the tests in pioneer. After all these hands on activities, we finally got to drill! Drilling is like our UG pride although some non UG CCAs like band get to drill too hence we'll work on our drilling! :) Then it was time for station games which was like a prerequisite for our physical training. PT was intense but however, like what BingPei CL mentioned, it is what that bonds us together and it truly shows our one for all and all for one spirit!!! I hope the sec 1s will not dislike guides since it was their first intense PT and find their passion towards guides as well as true friendships! Always in mind the ABCDE rules: dont Argue dont Bargain dont Complain dont Delay and no Excuses

Axemanship:)

Reflection for 26 March:)

We started off by doing roll call and drillings as usual and the sec 2s also taught the sec1s how to tie a square lash and clove hitch and how to undo them . we also taught them how to make a shoerag as a patrol. Then we had cheering session! :D
All in all , i find guides tiring but worth it and meaningful and we learn useful things like pitching tent , making shoerags and stuff that may be useful in future . It is also an extended family that we find warmth in and also make friends here!! We will also be more disciplined but we ought to be faster next time .
