Camp 2015 :-)))

Hi guides!! here is the packing list for this year's camp!! pls do be prepared and bring necessary things :-)

reminders:
Each patrol are to prepare a ziplock bag to put in your phones and wallets but pls note TO TAKE OUT YOUR EZLINK CARD as you will be needing them for wide games!!

Food items for outdoor cooking should be separated into which needs to be refrigerated and which do not, properly labelled with your patrol !!

No bringing of tidbits as well as they will be confiscated!!

Last but not least, the last person who arrives on the first day, her whole patrol will need to clean the toilets on the last day so guides do not be late!!

Hello guides!!! eoys are finally over!!! please note that there is no activity on wednesday but there will be cca on friday!!

please fall in at the concourse at 3:15pm in your FULL GUIDES UNIFORM!! make sure you have all your badges, nails cut and remember white socks!!

camp dates are finally out !! it will be on 6th november to 8th november and consent forms will be given on friday!!

EDD 2015 !!!!

Hi guides !! Here are some reminders regarding EDD !!

For the COY 1 and COY 2 performance teams, you have to finish up and know exactly what you are performing by this Wednesday,  26th August. Some things you'll need to think about are:

• Music
• Dance steps
• Skit (if you are planning on doing a small one)
• Costumes related to the theme

For the gadgets, toy making, fashion show and fridge magnet groups, please do prepare these few points by this Wednesday, 26th August as well !!

• A drawing of your design, COLOURED
• Items you need to purchase
• How you plan on making it from scratch

For the dessert making, you have to come up these few items, by Wednesday, 26th August as well!!

EDD 2015 !!!

hello guides!!! EDD 2015 is back !!! this year, it will be held at CHANGKAT CHANGI SECONDARY SCHOOL on  29TH AUGUST 2015 !!! ( pls be reminded that you'll to rearrange any tuition classes beforehand! )

here are the details on the upcoming competitions segments!! please do discuss among your team members and we hope we'll win something this year!!

1. Mini Gadget Making Competition - Survivor: Kampong Singapore (Guides Only)

• Each Coy is allowed to send only 1 team. Max no. of participants: 4 members.
• The gadget created should be in line with the theme: Back to Singapore Kampong Days - Survivor: Kampong Singapore
• Participants are required to bring their own materials such as chopsticks, satay sticks, string and scissors. All adhesive materials like glue and adhesive tape are not allowed.
• Gadget should be created on the day of the competition. No pre-prepared parts or markings are allowed.
• A write-up of around 50 words on the gadget is required for submission.
• The final product will be judged based on relevance to theme, originality and creativity of design, stability of structure, neatness of knots, number of knots and lashes and write-up.
• TIME FRAME: 1 HOUR 30 MINUTES

2. Recycled Toy Making Competition -Toys of Yesteryears

• Each Coy is allowed to send only 1 team. Max no. of participants: 2
• Toy created should be in line with the theme: Back to Singapore Kampong Days -Toys of Yesteryears.
• Participants are required to bring their own materials. Use of recycled material is strongly encouraged.
• Toy should be created on the day of the competition. No pre-prepared parts or markings are allowed.
• Max budget: $10. Cost will be bourne by school.
• A write-up of 50 words and break-down of budget together with receipt is required for submission.
• Final product will be based on relevance to theme, originality and creativity of design, overall aesthetic appeal, number and variety of recycled materials used and write-up.
• TIME FRAME: 1HOUR
   30 MINUTES

3. Tele-match -Old School Days

• Each Coy / Pack is allowed to send only one team. Maximum number of participant in each team is 4 with 2 reserves. 
• Each participant are required to wear their school PE attire
• Each participant will be required to  move quickly from 1 point to another while participating in a task ( Eg : Spin a hoola-hoop with a chopstick, skip, dribble a ball with a floor ball stick or transport a ball with another team member. )
• The fastest team wins
• Guides are to ascertain their guides/ brownies health and fitness condition before signing them up or allowing them in the race. 
• Time frame : 1 hour 30 mins. 

4.Performance Competition - " The Kampong Chronicles "

•  Each Coy / Pack can only send in 1 team consisting of: 6 members
• Each performance should last between 3 to 5 minutes and it should be in line with the theme: Back to Singapore Kampong Days - The Kampong Chronicles.
• Students can either dance, sing, play instruments, dramatize or a combination of any of it. No dangerous acts or stunts and revealing clothing.
• Groups will be judged ln relevance to the Theme, Teamwork, Originality & Content, Confidence and Entertainment Value.
• Own CD with song must be brought for the competition. It must be clearly labelled with school name, track title and number.
• Request for extra power points must be included in the applications form.
• Time Frame: 1 Hour 30 Mins

5. Desert Making Competition - "Kampung Delights Fusion"

•  Each coy/pack is allowed to send only 1 team. Maximum number of participants in each team is 3. 
•   A write-up ( around 50 words ) of dish together with a break-down of budget ( include receipt ) is required
•  Maximum budget for dish is $10 (Please note that cost will be borne by your school)
•   Preparation for the dessert should be simple and creative. 
• Any equipment or utensils must be brought by the competing schools. Only electricity supply is provided. Bring extension plugs in case power supply is far from your preparation stations.
• All materials should be prepared from scratch and not before the start of the competition. 
•  Dessert will be judged on relevance to the theme, taste, creativity, overall aesthetic appeal, hygiene and write-up.
• Time frame: 1 hour 30 mins

     6. Handicraft Fridge Magnet Competition- Kampung Times

• Each coy/pack is allowed to send only 1 team. Maximum number of participants on each team is 2
• The magnet created should be in line with the theme: Back To Singapore Kampung Days - Kampung Times
• Participants are required to bring their own materials. Any type of magnets such as bar, button or even cut-out magnets may be used. Any suitable materials such as clay or cardboard may be used as the base of the magnet. Any form of medium like markers, colour pencils or paint may be used to create the magnet. 

• The magnet should be about 9cm by 6cm in size. There is norestriction to the shape of the magnet
• The words " East Division Day 2015" and " Kampong Times "should  appear on the magnet
• The magnet should be created on the day of the competition and be able to stick to anything metallic. No pre-prepared parts or marking are allowed. 
• The maximum budget for the competition is $10. Please note that the cost will be borne by your school. 
• A write-up of around 50 words and break down of budget together with the receipt is required for submission
• The final product will be judged based on relevance to the theme, originality and creativity of design, overall aesthetic appeal and write-up
• Time frame : 1 hour 30 mins

7. Recycled Fashion Show - "Project Runway: The Kampong Next Top Model

• Each Coy is allowed to send 3 participants.
• The costume should be created in line with the theme: Back to Singapore Kampong Days - Project Runway" The Kampong Next Top Model
• One participant to be the "model" for the show.
• The other participant to be the "designer" and another can help with the dressing up.
• All costumes and accessories must be created out of recycled materials ( NOT RECYCLABLE) - (e.g) disposable containers,straws, cardboard, newspapers (lots), used clean disposable utensils, remnents of pieces of fabric etc.
• The MODEL and DESIGNER must do a catwalk together and after which, the designer needs to present her costume design and chosen materials.
• Participants are advised to prepare a short write-up of about 50-100 words on choice of costume design and chosen materials beforehand.
• Participants must bring their own materials.
• Participants are judged based on fashion costumes, parading model and verbal explanation.
• Time frame: 1 hour 30 minutes (inclusive of walk)

!!!for the performance category, please plan something out and start to make your dance steps and you guys would need to show it to Ms Tan on this Friday, 21ST AUGUST.
!!Anything dealing with art and craft, please plan your design and present it to the Teacher-In-Charge before proceeding to buy the items.

Please take note that you will be dismissed at 5:30PM so do inform your parents! please remember to complete your 5 point assignments!! this will be the last reminder we will be giving you!!
