sec 2 and 3 to be in half guides uniform and sec 1s to wear pe attire! fall in by 3:15pm and remember to bring along the money you have collected for the guides cookies! keep it in your pockets and your PLs will be collecting it during roll coll!

each patrol is to bring at least one box of matchsticks and all sec twos are to be reminded that your health trooper badge assignment is to be done and handed up by next wed! :)

First aid course!!🏥

This startard first aid course is open to the sec2s and 3s

Here are the details:
Price: $120 / person

Dates and timing:
Sat 4th July 09:00 - 18:00
Sun 5th July 09:00 - 18:00
12th July 09:00 - 13:00
(You will need to attend ALL sessions)

Venue: SRCA 15 Penang Lane s238486 (Nearest mrt: Dohby Ghaut mrt station)

You will get two proficiency badges: the first aid and emergency helpers badge once you pass the course. You are strongly encouraged to participate! It's really useful and worthwhile(:

For Wednesday Activity,

Attire: half guides uniform for Sec 3s with shorts, red pe shirt and shorts for Sec 1s

* Sec 1s, please bring your full guides uniform for your Enrolment Test including your scarf, hat and belt. Make sure that the two buttons are sewn on your collar, your patrol emblem is sewn at the right place as well.

Sec 1s: You guys will be having your enrolment test so please study well for it. All the things that are tested are in your guides handbook under 'The Enrolment"

Sec 2s: You guys will be out for warrior badge so make sure you gather at the concourse by 250pm as the bus will leave at 3pm sharp. Report in Red PE tshirt w school skirt and make sure you have a pen w you!! enjoy hehe

Sec 3s: Revise on canvas tent. It will the last time you guys will be accessed before the seniors step down so please do your best and avoid the mistakes the seniors have pointed out as well.

P.S second last activity before seniors step down :( please try to put on your best behavior and participate actively!!

attire: full guides uniform w pe shorts underneath

we expect your uniform to be up to standard which includes the following points: hair tied neatly & sprayed; finger nails trimmed to appropriate length; berets in pockets; badges polished & neatly pinned (diagonal line for trefoil, world badge & award badge); socks 4 fingers up high; cord & whistle @ seam; skirt of appropriate length. we noticed that many of you guys did not take our comments into consideration and mistakes WILL be accounted for. falling in by 315pm includes greeting of seniors and/or ma'ams by 315pm too. no dragging of greetings & replies, must be LOUD AND CLEAR (if none of us acknowledges, it means we expect more)

sec 1s will be out for your EEC course

sec 2s please read up on table gadget making, knots to use etc

sec 3s read up on folding of flag and sheet bend knot for tying of flag to the flagstand

Drilling Badge (28/3) Reflections

On Saturday , 28th March , we had our drilling badge test in school. We arrived early to practice beforehand with the company of the other seniors (thank you seniors!!!). We started off with uniform check by seniors then proceeded on with our practice.

At around 9am , we started our drilling badge test when Mdm Hasnah arrived. She checked our uniform again and gave us a few commands to start of our test. After her commands , XueWei started off as the first candidate of the test.

We were asked to choose 4 cards from different category : Malay commands , teaching in numbers , English commands and set ceremony. 

There were mistakes made during the test which made us felt really bad as some skills were initially taught and emphasized by the seniors to us and it also made us slightly demoralized as we really wanted to do well and not disappoint anyone. However , I believe that everyone of us did our best for the test and put in our best effort we could give during the test. 

The entire test throughout was stressful yet fulfilling for us as we were really anxious and was afraid that we might disappoint our seniors and ourselves after the many hours we stayed back together for practice. It was also fulfilling as we got to learn many new skills like how to fold the world flag and also how the taps were supposed to be sung. 

When the test was finally over , we all felt a relief. After the mistakes made during the test , we'll definitely push ourselves even harder to be more responsible for ourselves and also pick up more of the skills that we've yet to learn.

Reflections for 30 January (-:

On Friday, the sec 3s went to Fengshan Primary School to teach the brownies on how to start a fire so only the sec 2s fell in at the concourse in our full uniform at 3.15pm. The seniors checked our uniform and had roll call before they split us into coy 1 and coy 2. Coy 1 went to the service road to practice our drilling while coy 2 stayed at the concourse to practice their gadget making. Throughout the drilling session, I clarified my doubts and even learnt new drills. I felt that it was quite fun! Then, all of us went to the concourse to learn 3 new songs for world thinking day. The songs were quite nice and everyone enjoyed themselves. After that, we were dismissed. All in all, I had fun and I can't wait for the next guides activity and to learn more new songs!

on monday, please fall in at the concourse @ 2pm sharp in Guides navy camp tee & school skirt (white socks as usual) it will end by 430pm (:

please also bring along a notebook & pen, read up and clarify the skills for canvas tent pitching, flagpole pitching as well as for knot tying. do note that this activity is compulsory but no consent forms will be given as it will be conducted in school so do notify your parents!!!

this fri you will be going to Discovery centre for your total defence badge work! please be cooperative and listen to ma'am (especially cause she's v sick but she will still go with U guys)

it will be very crowded (around 2000 ppl ok!!!) at Methodist School! Parents are not allowed to enter the school to fetch u too. That's why we are providing bus service to PAYA LEBAR. 

But if you are very insistent of going home from there, please inform the seniors or Guiders.

there will be NO dinner provided, that's why we encourage all of you to bring light packet snacks and drinks (can be soft drinks!! Leftovers from CNY :p)

World Thinking Day Celebrations

CEREMONY IN SCHOOL

please be reminded that there will be a rehearsal next tuesday (17/2) for WTD ceremony that will take place on next next monday (23/2) !!! fall in at the concourse by 3.15pm in the school uniform that you'll be wearing for the day (be it half/full uniform) we'll end lastest by 5pm :-)
