week 9's reflection

Wednesday
On Saturday, we specially went back to school to take part in the EDD! After gathering in school, we then proceeded to walk to Broadrick Secondary. I was in the painting grp with Yun Ning(PS). As we painted together, she taught me some of the techniques she uses when she paints/draw. I felt that Saturday's EDD activity was an enriching experience and I learnt alot. I look forward to the next EDD :)
-Yu Thong Sec 1, Oriole Patrol

Friday
On Friday, I missed about half of cca as I had to meet a teacher. When I came back, everyone was in the classroom practicing for their respective EDD group competitions. I was in the talent time competition and we were dancing cheer up by twice. We practised together and the seniors kindly pointed out what I was lacking for the dance and I did my best to improve on my dancing. Then after that we played random songs and we all danced to it. I had fun practising with the seniors!

week 8's reflection

Wednesday
On Wednesday, some of the  sec 2 guides went for their eoy oral exams, while 2 of the sec 1 guides were absent. The sec 1s were supposed to hand up our artist's badge component 5, but because my printer ran out of ink, I couldn't hand up a proper submission. I feel ashamed because I knew it burdened the sec 3s and Ms Lin, and I will try harder to not delay anything again. After roll call, the sec 1s went up to an empty classroom to learn ironing and how to take proper care of clothes. It was quite fun as we learnt about the symbols that tell us how to take proper care of our clothes. We also learnt how to remove different types of stains. As I am pretty clumsy and often leave stains on my skirt, learning how to remove stains was especially important for us. After that, we went to ECube to plan for EDD. I was in the snack making group, and my group finished our write-up on our dish and assigned each other with what to bring. I felt that Wednesday's activity was quite interesting and productive and hope we do well for the upcoming EDD.

-Kuan Jing Xuan, Sunflower Patrol

Friday
On Friday I had to go for service learning so I missed the first 2 hours of cca. When I came back, they are already at ecube discussing and preparing for edd. I joined the mini gadget making group and PL taught me how to tie a snake lash using strings and poles which is something new to me. After that, we played the telephone game. It is a game where we formed a line and the first person have to act out something to the second person and the second person act the same thing to the third person and so fourth. When it reached the last person, she had to guess what is it based on the acting. All those weird guesses we make are really funny. We ended off the day at the concourse by singing tabs around 6pm that day. I really enjoyed myself on Friday during cca!!

week7's reflection

I think this Friday's activity was quite stressful at first because it was hard telling everyone my speech and poem. I have a phobia of speaking in front of people even if it is a small crowd. However, I managed to pull through and it was very interesting hearing the other guides' speeches. Discussing about the dance genre that we were going to was very fun because I have a passion for dance.

-Isabelle Sec 1,Orchid Patrol

On Friday, we fell in at the concourse at 3.25pm. After roll call, the sec 2s were told to find an empty classroom to do our five point test. I found the test quite hard as i did not memorise the steps to take in the event of a fire in the house and in a high rise building. After that, we went down to the concourse to drill. We realised that not all of us were drilling properly as our legs were not ninety degrees. We also realised that we should time slower as it would be less tiring for us. After drilling, the sec 3s asked us to close our eyes and raise our hands if we were interested in the different competitions for EDD. After that, each team was told to sit down and discuss what we were going to do. When we were done, we ended off the activity by singing taps.
